The triestini are known as those doing most sports in Italy. Many are the possibilities. We will let you try a good selection, without doing this at a competition level.

Make sure to bring suitable clothes and shoes for an active action holiday. The summer is comfortable in Trieste. Sea is 25 degrees or more, a lot of sun. Bring your sun tan oil.

Arrival Thursday, Departure Monday. Accommodation in a 4 star hotel near Trieste.



Day 1 Arrive in Trieste - Bike tour

Transport from the airport. Check in and greet ‘your local friend’. A tour on e-bike near the hotel. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 2Mountain climbing in the Val Rosandra - Duino Castle

Mountain climbing in the Val Rosandra canyon between Trieste and Slovenia. Lunch in the lowest ‘rifugio’ or mountain hut in Italy. In the afternoon, stand up paddling under the cliffs of the Duino Castle, after first having visited the castle

Day 3Trekking on the Karst hills - Grotta Gigante

Trekking on the Karst hills above Trieste. Visit of the Grotta Gigante which in 1995 entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest visitable cave. It’s major hall is large enough to room St.Peter’s Church in Rome. Lunch in an “osmizze”. In 1784, the Emperor Joseph II of Habsburg authorized the local farmers to sell their homemade wine, cheese and ham from their homes for a period of eight days a year. The name reflects the Slovene word for eight (osem). The osmizze is a favorite ‘waste of time’ for the triestini. At the osmizze, an entertaining presentation on a surprising subject.
Cooking class. The dinner will be what you made together.

Day 4E-biking through Slovenia towards Croatia

E-biking from the hotel through Slovenia towards Croatia. Lunch in a local restaurant along the path. On the return, relax in the gym and the pool, dinner in the hotel.

Day 5Departure

Time to say “Ciao! A la prossima!” to Trieste. Transfer to the airport.
